I was really nervous when it came down to our group being up next.  I was kind of scared that I was going to choke and just stand there and say nothing.  I really thought I was going to mess up like I did for the HOOF project, but I think I did really good this time.  I think my group did good too, even though Chris kept looking back to ask for some stuff, but he did pretty good.  Our group didn’t get funded, but it was still really great to go up there and get it over with.  I’m really glad I had the people in my group, they all pitched in to do their part.

An example of the poem showing love as comforting is in lines 3-6, when he compares love to a warm coat and thick socks in the cold.  Another example is when he compares his love to a scarf around your face during the winter.  In lines 25-30 he talks about if everyone in the world didn’t care about this person, he would still love them.  I also think that the poem being a lyric poem shows that love also isn’t strict.  I think this love is more important and thats why I chose it as my favorite.

In conclusion, this poem talks about a more effective type of love.  The imagery it has shows that unconditional love is comforting.  Like when Baca talks about how his love will always be there no matter what.  I like that the poem format wasn’t strict, while the others were, because it gives more of a “from the heart” feeling.  This is why this poem is more memorable and my favorite.

One thing I expected going on our trip was that the work place was going to look like the news stations on television, really big and people running around everywhere.  It was actually  very small rooms just big enough to do the show, and there were barely any offices and people working.  It was also really quiet.  I didn’t see a lot going on other than people working a lot.

I don’t think I would want to work in this type of career because of all the work the people have to do.  I learned that the Graphic Designer has to do a whole bunch of work with very little time.  One of the people said he would have one deadline that would be about a day, and sometimes he would get deadlines that were due within 30 minutes.  I’m a big procrastinator so I don’t think I would do very well at that kind of job.

High school courses that would help prepare for any of the careers at KTVU would be multimedia and journalism.  I don’t think there is a class a MDHS where I could learn how to read off of a teleprompter fluent and fast, other than English class, but everyone has that. I also don’t think there is anything on reporting to everyone what the weather is going to be everyday.

One of the things I saw that interested me were how big the cameras were, and how they moved around with only a remote.  Another thing that interested me was how easy the anchor woman made it seem to just go up and say her script so fluently and fast, knowing a whole bunch of people were watching.  I don’t think there was anything else that I didn’t see that I wanted to, other than more people.

I really liked this field trip because I saw and learned a lot.  I learned a lot from everyone over there that talked to us.  I was very interested to see everything over there.   But overall, I don’t think I would want my career there.

Some of the things that I expected was what the campus was going to look like, how we were going to get there, what we were going to do and what the weather was going to be like.  Like I said, I had already been there, so I thought that I had an idea of what the campus looked like, but I guess I really didn’t walk around as much the last time.  I knew we were going to take BART because Randy had already told us that, and he told us we were going to have a tour around the campus, too.  But, I didn’t expect to have the freedom to walk around for about an hour by ourselves, so I thought that was really fun.  I expected the weather to be just a little cold because the news said it would be, but it turned out to be really hot.  I also learned a lot from our tour guide.

What I learned from our tour guide was about some of the buildings that they had over there, admissions, dorm life, and more that I can’t remember right now.  One thing that I learned was that there were actual students ringing the bells at that huge tower, called Sather Tower.  I also learned that the cost to go to school over there was about 20,000 to about 30,000 dollars depending on whether you lived there or at home.  Another thing was that the dorms weren’t really on campus.  There were other things I learned, but there was so much I really can’t remember.

Overall, I really like the field trip.  It was a great experience, and I learned a lot.  Most of the expectations I had were met, but I really wish it hadn’t been so hot. I was also surprised about a couple of things too.  Not only that, but I’m pretty sure we all had a lot of fun because we were all able to be together.

Then after we finished learning all the different programs, we started our HOOF project.  The main program we used was Final Cut.  It was a lot of work and I procrastinated in doing it, but I think mines came out pretty good.  Then, we started to work with making 3D stuff, and it looked hard at first, but I’m following it pretty well.

School Sucks.

This week, we learned how to use Garage Band.  I learned how to change the tempo, and how to fade in and fade out the song.  I had trouble putting the different beats together, and make it sound normal.  So, the max beats I had was like 3.
